Librarian
The City of Red Lodge is seeking a part-time Librarian at the Red Lodge Carnegie Library to work with the Library Director and share in the professional work of our small public library. The successful candidate will enjoy programming (developing, promoting, and executing) for all ages (in the library and through outreach); processing and cataloging library materials; participating in Collection Management; providing Reader's Advisory and reference services to patrons; managing Interlibrary Loan requests; assisting patrons with technology and troubleshooting library equipment as needed; maintaining public relations (social media, etc.); working at the circulation desk; and doing all of the above while providing exceptional customer service to patrons and visitors.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, have a keen attention to detail, enjoy helping others, and take pride in their work.
Compensation: $21.66 + per hour (DOE, DOQ) and part-time benefits package
Schedule: 25-30 hours per week including occasional weekend and evening hours
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any subject is required. Library coursework is preferred. A Master’s in Library Science is ideal.
- Professional experience in a public library is preferred. Past experience with programs and/or cataloging is ideal.
- Must be proficient with technology and able to master using library software.
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and excellent customer service are essential.
- All positions are subject to pre-employment drug testing
