Red Lodge Cemetery

The Red Lodge City Cemetery is located in the northwest corner of Red Lodge, off highway 78. Its purpose is to provide a safe, honorable, and maintained burial ground as a historical resting place and memorial for the dead.

The Public Works department performs daily operations: mowing, watering, road maintenance, snow removal, general upkeep, enforcement, and opening/closing of graves. Public works is not responsible for lowering the casket into the grave and doesn’t provide any equipment for this. These services can be provided by a private contractor and arranged through a mortuary.

The City has established a separate section of the cemetery as a Veterans section. Full-sized graves and cremation sized graves are available to honorably discharged members of the United States Armed Forces.

For more information on regulations, fees, and arrangements, view the cemetery resolution document or call City Hall.
